Fish Heroes

Queensbridge School has taken part in the Fish in School Hero program. Ms Boyd, Head of Food, attended a fish preparation skills masterclass and secured a supply of British rope grown mussels for Year 10s to cook with. Fish Hero’s mission is to give every student the opportunity to prepare fish, before they leave school. No one in the group had prepared mussels before so it was a new challenge for everyone. Using Jamie Oliver’s ‘Angry Mussels’ recipe, everyone was keen to cook with this unfamiliar commodity. The whole group produced a plate of delicious and perfectly cooked seasonal food which was enjoyed and evaluated in class.
