Careers Education Information and Guidance (CEIAG)

At Queensbridge School we are committed to providing high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) to support our students in making informed choices about their future. Our careers programme is designed to inspire, inform, and equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to explore and pursue their aspirations and ambitions. We work closely with employers, education providers, and other partners to ensure our students receive the best possible guidance and opportunities.

Careers Information for Students

Our aim is to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and ability to:

  • Make aspirational and informed decisions
  • Develop career readiness and prepare for adulthood
  • Make effective and sustained transitions

We provide a range of resources and activities to help students including:

  • Careers guidance sessions with a qualified advisor.
  • Work experience opportunities and employer engagement activities.
  • Access to online career resources.
  • Information on further education, apprenticeships, and employment options.
  • Support with application processes, communication and interview skills.

 

Careers Information for Teachers

Teachers play a crucial role in shaping students’ career aspirations. We support our teaching staff by providing:

  • Training and guidance on integrating career learning into the curriculum.
  • Access to labour market information and career progression routes.
  • Opportunities to engage with employers and industry professionals.
  • Resources to help students understand career pathways in different subjects.

 

Careers Information for Parents/Carers

Parents and carers have a vital role in supporting their child's career choices. We provide:

  • Information on post-16 education and career pathways.
  • Advice on how to support their child with their next steps.
  • Guidance on further education, apprenticeships, traineeships, university routes, employment opportunities and alternative accredited qualifications.

We follow the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure a robust careers programme. These eight benchmarks are:

Provider Access Legislation (PAL)

Under the Provider Access Legislation, we welcome training providers, colleges, and employers to engage with our students and present a variety of career and education pathways. Our policy ensures that students have access to meaningful encounters with providers of technical education and apprenticeships.
