Queensbridge join forces with the Victoria and Albert Museum

In February this year, Queensbridge hosted a visit from Tristram Hunt, the Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London. Mr. Hunt was at Queensbridge to find out more about the School's new partnership with Highbury Hall as well Mr Hunt's (and the V&A's) passion for product design. Mr. Hunt was so impressed by what he saw during his visit and as a result, Queensbridge is now the first school in Birmingham to create a partnership with the V&A and take our place on the new and exciting DesignLab project.

Four year 9 pupils, along with Mr Spicer, (who has organised the partnerships), visited the museum on Tuesday 13th March and met with the Head of Education and the Curator of the linked exhibition 'The Future Starts Here'. The exhibition and subsequent project will see involvement from NASA, Harvard and Yale Universities, Oxford University, Google, SpaceX and the Indian Space Research. The pupils heard all about this exciting project and many of the amazing artefacts that will be on display and also how they will now be working with Professor Ronald Jones and PhD students from the Royal College of Art. The project begins in June and pupils are very much looking forward to heading back down to London and create their very own concepts and designs for the future.
