South Network Art Exhibition 2019

An annual highlight in the Art department calendar, the South Network Exhibition takes place in the stunning School of Art building at Birmingham City University and celebrates the creativity and talent of young artists from schools in the Birmingham South Area Network.

The standard of work this year has been higher than ever, and on Monday we were joined by our year 11 artists, their families and teachers to present their work at the Private View event.  As a culmination of students' hard work throughout the year, this exhibition is put together with a great sense of pride, and seeing the reactions of pupils, their parents and the South Network community on the opening evening is priceless.

Meanwhile this week, our year 7 and year 10 students have been enjoying visiting the exhibition as part of their Art curriculum. Year 7 have been discussing the importance of seeing artwork, up close and in a gallery setting. For year 10, this is a valuable opportunity to see the quality, scope and variety of work produced at KS4 and KS5 level, and we are sure they will take inspiration from some of the incredible artwork on show this year.

Well done to all the students involved, and our thanks to the Swanshurst Art Department for their role in organising this year's exhibition.
