Partnerships

Our vision for partnerships is to create a dynamic, inclusive and accessible environment that cultivates the development of character for all of our students. By integrating Sports, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), creative, visual  and performing arts into our school development through the curriculum, wider learning, trips and visits. We aspire to empower students with the necessary skills, knowledge, values and toolkit for life enabling them to thrive as they progress through Queensbridge School and beyond.

If you would like to discuss future partnerships with Queensbridge School including opportunities for our students please contact Karen Hill (Partnerships lead) by email: enquiry@queensbridgeschool.bham.sch.uk (0121 464 5566)

Sports Partnerships

Through partnerships with local sports clubs and coaches, we aim to provide a diverse range of high quality sporting activities that cater to the interests and abilities of all students from grassroots to elite sports performance. Below are some great examples of how we have worked with some exceptional partners.

Moseley Rugby Club

Our partnership includes specialist Rugby coaching delivered by Moseley Rugby coaches in lesson time, after school club and intervention groups. Participation is extended through to junior rugby clubs at Moseley Rugby Club where junior girls train on Friday evenings 18:30-19:30 and junior boys train on Sunday mornings 10:00-11:00. Young people under the age of 17 qualify for free entry to home games at Moseley Rugby Club (proof of age at the turnstiles is required).

Warwickshire Cricket Foundation

Our students benefit from specialist Cricket coaching in lesson time and an after school club delivered by Warwickshire cricket coaches. Additional opportunities for our students have included providing a ‘guard of honour’ for players as they enter Edgbaston cricket pitch, complimentary tickets for our students and use of the ‘Bears Classroom’ for specialised lessons to enhance the BTEC Sport course. A ‘talent pipeline’ enables our students to progress onto elite performance working alongside existing programmes at Edgbaston.

Creative and Performing Arts Partnerships

Collaborations with local artists, theatres and cultural institutions offers our students opportunities to explore various art forms including art, dance, drama and music.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG)

As the first school in residence at Birmingham Art and Museum Gallery we are planning exciting programmes with curators for our students to embrace over the coming years. This will include our students recording a young persons perspective of Art on display in Birmingham Art Gallery for visitors to listen to as they tour the Museum and Art Gallery and gallery space for our students to display their creations.

Business Partnerships

Our business partners help our students with progressing onto their next steps post 16. Events include an annual careers fair held in November for all of our year 11 students, face to face work experience for all of our year 10 students and ‘Meet the Employer’ opportunities for our students to meet employers to ask questions and to hear about apprenticeships, traineeships and T levels that are on offer for them to pursue.

STEM Innovation Partnerships

We collaborate with industry partners, research institutions and STEM professionals to expose our students to real world applications of STEM disciplines. This includes our students visiting the Think Tank and a mobile Planetarium coming to our school.

Duke of Edinburgh

Our year 10 students embrace all sectors of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. This includes 3 -6 months of voluntary service. This popular course enables our students to embrace all of the challenges and enables them to gain a qualification that is recognised world-wide. If you have opportunities where our students can volunteer please contact Karen Hill (Partnerships Lead) by email: enquiry@queensbridge.bham.sch.uk or call 0121 464 5566.
